SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Arusha National Park is one of Tanzania’s most accessible and diverse parks, located just a short drive from Arusha. Though smaller than many of the country’s famous reserves, it offers an impressive variety of landscapes and wildlife within a compact area.
Overview
Serengeti National Park covers approximately 14,750 square kilometers and forms part of the larger Serengeti ecosystem that extends into Kenya’s Maasai Mara. The park is defined by vast open savannah plains, rocky granite kopjes, river systems, and seasonal wetlands that support one of the richest wildlife populations in Africa.
It is home to the legendary Great Migration, where over 1.5 million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles move across the plains in search of fresh grazing. The park is also one of the best places in Africa to observe predators in action, including lions, leopards, and cheetahs.
